The social bookmarking site BlinkList announced a series of improvements today that help you to connect with other users.
They've also added a "view all friends" section that's vaguely similar to the Facebook news feed: it provides a quick view of all the new links from around your network. The final new feature helps you to expand that network: as soon as you start bookmarking pages, BlinkList will find "Other People Like You" - you might want to add these users to your friends. And since we didn't write about it at the time, also note that BlinkList opened up "BlinkList Spaces" at the end of November. Despite the name, this is more like Squidoo than MySpace - it allows you to to assemble links around a certain topic you're passionate about. Marketing, for example.
Social bookmarking is a crowded space - Diigo, Searchles, Fungow, Slister, SpinSpy, Jots and BlueDot are just a few of the players. Facebook has also joined in by launching Facebook Share, while del.icio.us continues to rule supreme. BlinkList is hanging on in there, and they get bonus points for adding a Social Networking Awards button to all their profile pages this weekend. ;)
