Blinkx, the video search engine, announced today that they're launching a relevant videos widget for blog owners and social networkers. At the moment, you can click "wall it" to create a video wall to embed on your blog, MySpace, Piczo, hi5 et al - as of Thursday (when Blinkx It goes live), you'll also have the option to insert a drop down menu. This "Blinkx It" code serves up videos relevant to the content of the page, it seems, drawn from Blinkx's huge index.

Videos are drawn from MySpace Video, Google Video, YouTube and news outlets. I'm not totally convinced that a blogger would want to add such a widget, however - as we asked with the Searchles widget: is this benefiting the blogger or just Blinkx? Having lots of relevant content could be good for visitors, of course, but I still think Blinkx would need some kind of revenue sharing to win anyone over.

You can see Blinkx It in action below (RSS readers, click through to see it). These videos might not be as relevant as they could be, since I've set it to find clips relevant to Mashable.com itself, but you get the idea. The widget should be available on Blinkx on Thursday.
