Washington, D.C., snowstorm has reached 'bread and milk' freakout status

Some cities handle their weather preparedness better than others.

Washington, D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic area are currently preparing for a potentially historic blizzard expected to begin Friday, so the residents of the nation's capital and surrounding areas are currently in full-on freakout mode.

While it's fun (especially for northern cities) to poke fun at D.C. for its excitement over a snowstorm, some weather reports are predicting a snow accumulation of up to 30 inches, enough to cripple any major city's ability to function properly.

Regardless, bread and milk are flying off the shelves in D.C. grocery stores -- as well as booze, of course.

Hurry or you'll be stuck with whole wheat bread.

And skim milk.

Forget the fresh fruit, it's too late.

Do not forget the booze.

When the memes start, you know it's time to start freaking out.

For those wondering why everyone is joking about bread and milk, it's a reference to a viral video from Vic Dibitetto from 2013, who parodies the pre-storm freakout with his need for bread and milk.
