There are a number of blog search tools out there, and some have become controversial for their human-powered curator process and simplistic style. But such an approach has its merits when you look at the broad appeal of blog recommendations and curated suggestions. There are those end users that would like to be able to find blog content that's not technology related, and doesn't come from self-promotional platforms that are often found on some memes and other blog search engines.

Blogged.com is hoping to move beyond these niche engines by combining many of the good traits they uphold. With a major revamp to its site, Blogged.com is adding blog article search, expanding on the type of content and recommendations it can provide. The hope with this is that Blogged.com can become a one-stop shop for all your blog search needs. "Having a blog article search enhances the overall offering we provide to both bloggers and readers on our site and reinforces our goals to be the 'one stop' destination for people to find 'better blogs' to read," said Kenneth Yeh, co-founder of Blogged.com

Even with these improvements, Blogged.com doesn't seem to be attacking anything entirely new here. I wondered about the target demographic, and if its aims were such that a new user base was being approached with the revamped version of Blogged.com. According to Yeh, the target audience are those users that want to "go beyond the 5 or 10 blogs they follow regularly." That means Blogged.com wants to be the major search and filter tool that helps you dig down into the blog content across the Web, in every major category.
