BMW's chief executive, Harald Krueger, collapsed during a company presentation at the Frankfurt Auto Show on Tuesday.

Krueger, 49, started feeling dizzy five minutes into the presentation and fell on his back, when staff helped him off the stage.

Krueger has been traveling a lot lately and felt ill before the presentation, but still decided to go on stage, according to BMW spokesman Maximilian Schoeberl.

"His condition is not worrisome, they've ruled out anything serious," Schoeberl said.

Schoeberl said Krueger, who took over as BMW's CEO earlier this year, was seen by a doctor following the incident, who recommended that he cancel his other appointments for the day and rest at home.

Krueger was promoting BMW's i8 hybrid supercar at the time. He was also scheduled to hold a round table with journalists, which was instead conducted by the company's CFO.
