So you’re a blogger. You’ve grab yourself a decent-sized audience. You’ve gotten familiar with repeat commenters. Maybe you’ve virtually networked with some of them. What next? Meet. Yep, face to face. And that’s precisely what the wannabe essayist, novelist, screenwriter and director Georgia Getz intends do to, according to Christina Ledesma of 901am.com.

Getz, the author of a humor blog dubbed iambossy.com, is embarking (she’s already survived to Day 10, folks) on a journey to connect with the friends she’s made via the Web in person. How’s she doing it? By way of a Saturn hybrid vehicle (appropriately sponsored by the manufacturer), a sleeping bag, and 10,000 miles of tarmac.

Georgia began her journey late last month, and has already attracted the attention of “260 bloggers across 207 cities in 43 states,” with more signing on for some meets and greets as they learn of her little personal project. (Or should we say promotional tour?) She’s scheduled “blogger events” in 25 cities thus far, and is documenting the facts of the trip right on her site. What makes Getz’s story particularly interesting is that she is venturing out all over the US to spend her days (and even bunk with) people she’s come across on her blog. This isn’t a tale of blogger-is-magnet. This is one of a blogger heading out to make virtual social connections more concrete. Which is pretty rad (pardon that choice of word), wouldn’t you say?
