A $1 million scratch ticket lottery win on Nov. 11 marks the second million dollar win and third large lottery prize for one Boston-area woman since 1996.

Constance Carpenito's habit of purchasing $20 worth of scratch tickets every week from a Stop & Shop supermarket near her home has paid off handsomely.

According to the Massachusetts lottery, Carpenito won a $1 million prize in 1996, and has also won a $20,000 lottery prize at the same Stop & Shop. She says that she will use the money to "make this Christmas an especially good one for her family."

How exactly Carpenito is so lucky and the rest of us are not is a mystery we will never solve. Perhaps the odds are just in her favor, maybe she has a magical four-leaf clover or perhaps she's used up two wishes from a genie and her third will be to finally release its tortured spirit.

We'll never know. It's probably best to just not even think about it.
