Fifty Shades of Grey hasn't even hit theaters yet -- the U.S. release date is Feb. 13 -- but two sequels, based on the other two books in the trilogy, have already been announced.

The film's director Sam Taylor-Johnson said so herself at a fan event at New York’s Seigfeld Theatre Friday, MTV reports.

Even though Universal, the studio behind the movie, hasn't officially confirmed it, Taylor-Johnson's enthusiasm is easy to understand; the movie tickets have been selling like crazy, practically guaranteeing a strong opening.

Based on E.L. James' bestselling book, Fifty Shades of Grey follows the erotically-charged relationship of naive literature student Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and wealthy businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).

The other two books are Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed; all in all, more than 100 million copies of the trilogy have been sold worldwide.
