Boy George and The A-Team
Soldiers of fortune team up with a "English glitter prince."
Alex Q. Arbuckle
1986
Season 4, Episode 16 of The A-Team was a very special installment. In addition to the regular Vietnam vets-turned-vigilantes-for-hire Hannibal (George Peppard), Murdock (Dwight Schultz), Face (Dirk Benedict), and B.A. Baracus (Mr. T), the episode featured Boy George as Boy George. The convoluted, misunderstanding-laden plot involves a honky-tonk called the “Floor ‘Em,” a no-show country performer named Cowboy George, a promise of $1.2 million owed to Boy George, a gang of machine gun-wielding armored car thieves and a quantity of dynamite. Over the course of the episode, Boy George and the Culture Club perform for a crowd of surly oil workers, eventually winning them over, before the crowd leaves to try and kill the A-Team, who have been framed for killing a sheriff. (It’s complicated.)George kicks in a door to find disguises, and later helps the A-Team escape the mob, driving their iconic 1983 GMC van himself.Following a firefight involving dynamite and airplanes, all of the misunderstandings are resolved, and George performs a rendition of “Karma Chameleon” as Mr. T dances and the credits roll.
Excuse me, I can't play this place, 'cause it's a certified toilet. - Boy George on the Arizona Floor 'Em venue
Okay partner, let me say this so you hear. I want Cowboy George. I don't want no English glitter prince. Now Cowboy George shows up, or you show up in a concrete bathrobe at the bottom of Frasier Dam. - Chuck Danford, Arizona Floor 'Em owner
They don’t think Boy George here can draw the country and western audience… that’s why they’re trying to kill me. - John "Hannibal" Smith
