Brandon Marshall Trolls NFL Fans Who Think He's Other Brandon Marshall

Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall broke NFL rules by wearing lime green cleats during Thursday night's game to raise awareness for mental illness. The move earned him loads of respect from fans, and he also scored two touchdowns to lead his Bears to victory, making him the night's big winner.

But there's another Brandon Marshall in the NFL, a linebacker who plays for the Denver Broncos. He made just two tackles last season and was signed in September to the Broncos' practice squad. Few football fans know who he is. So Bronco Marshall took advantage of his anonymity to do some Hall of Fame Twitter trolling of oblivious NFL fans during Bear Marshall's stellar Thursday night performance. The results are hilarious.

Early in the game, it seems Bronco Marshall's mentions blew up when Bear Marshall dropped an easy pass:

Hey stop getting mad at me.. I didn’t drop the pass— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

This, however, gave Bronco Marshall an idea:

I’m out there catching passes. And tweetin at the same time— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

He even offered up "his" famous shoes as a post-game souvenir:

Who wants these green cleats after this game?— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

And some fans were stoked:

@BMarshall53 I want the shoes. 2nd td big 1st half— THE REAL JANKO (@KYLE_18_BUSCH_) October 11, 2013

@BMarshall53 I derserve them for drafting you 1st round in fantasy #loyalty #BearDown— Steven Mosny (@Mosny_2) October 11, 2013

Bronco Marshall kept up the tweeting-while-playing charade:

Another touchdown? I’m too nice for these bums out here— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

Many fans had caught on by now, enjoying the schtick, but some continued to bite:

@BMarshall53 thanks for the TD, and simultaneous Twitter comment!! You rock!!! Oh.. and I'll take the cleats.— Katey Washington (@ChicagoKatey) October 11, 2013

Some impressive multi-tasking, no?

@BMarshall53 Is getting it on the field AND through Social Media... ballin hard tonight for Broncos AND Bears #beast— Shakur (@hobbkillah) October 11, 2013

Bronco Marshall kept on gloating about Bear Marshall's success, and fans kept on falling for it:

2 TD’s in the first half? Who you know do it like me.. NOBODY!!— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

@BMarshall53 watching you kill it from Des Moines, Iowa!!!! See you on December 9th at Soldier Field!!!! #DaBears— miss katie (@katiekakes33) October 11, 2013

I’m the greatest of all time “@BryanSamudio: The only thing that could slow down @BMarshall53 tonight was halftime.”— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

Finally the jig was up, and Bronco Marshall came clean:

Ok I’m done— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

With all that being said.. I play LB. Not WR.. And I Went too Nevada.. So if you planned on hittin that unfollow when you found out go ahead— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

Some fans were ticked off:

@52JMJ: @BMarshall53 ima unfollow yo ass I thought u was somebody else”— Brandon M. Marshall (@BMarshall53) October 11, 2013

But most appreciated Bronco Marshall's sense of humor:

@BMarshall53 I'll still follow you, you are funny! Had a great laugh tonight! Glad you can joke!— Mindy McCraw (@MindyMcCraw) October 11, 2013

@BMarshall53 has a good sense of humor. Being confused w/some1 else w/the same name, in the same profession. Glad Bears BM is a good dude!— Nikki Jay (@SaintsGal12) October 11, 2013

The only logical conclusion here? Brandon Marshalls rule the NFL right now, both online and on the field.
