Did somebody say "corny as fuck"?
A few bold brands tried to tap into their inner Yeezus after Kanye West hammered out a lengthy Twitter rant on Wednesday in response to Wiz Khalifa's critique of his new album name.
The rapper's name quickly rose to the top of the list of trending topics, and a handful of corporate accounts saw an easy opportunity to inject some goofy product-centric jokes and memes of their own.
Kanye's now-deleted numerically labelled Twitter spree came in response to a tweet from the "See You Again" rapper last night that accused Kanye of ripping off Max B with the name switch. Wiz further incensed Kanye when he tweeted about hitting "this kk," which Kanye took to be the initials of his wife but Wiz claims is a strain of weed.
Whatever the actual argument was, the beef clearly distracted more than a few marketers from their "creative process."
