Rio de Janeiro, South America's most visited destination by international tourists, is gearing up to host the 2016 Olympic Games. The sailing events are to be held in Guanabara Bay, where generations of fisherman have made their livelihood.

Year on end, however, the fishermen are seeing less and less success with their hauls, sometimes only bringing in a measly half-a-dozen fish after four hours on the bay. They believe the excessive pollution from sewage and industrial waste is the cause of their hardship.

When Rio placed its bid to host the Olympics, the city pledged to reduce the pollution in Guanabara Bay by 80%, but the local fishermen report that little has been done to achieve such an ambitious goal.
