Brightcove Funded - Brightcove, the video publishing platform and YouTube-style destination site, has raised another massive round of funding - $59.5 million - from Maverick Capital, AllianceBernstein, Brookside Capital, The New York Times, Transcosmos and others. Brightcove had previously raised $21 million across two rounds. There are reports that the company has a post-money valuation of $220 million. See also our original coverage of Brightcove. RateMyProfessors Acquired - Viacom MTV Networks is acquiring RateMyProfessors, a site for rating your school professors, for use with its college network MTVu. No financials were disclosed. We've covered a similar site, Pick-a-Prof, in the past. (via)

MyWallSt.net - Launched yesterday, MyWallSt claims to be the first financial social network. It's a spin-off of WallSt.net, and aims to attract people interested in the stock market. Great idea, but the execution seems weak. See also SocialPicks and Bullpoo.

DayZloop - DayZloop is a new online community for teen girls that launched today. Includes videos, contests and Habbo Hotel-like avatars. Misses the mark for me.

Sproose - San Francisco-based Sproose, another social search engine like Wink, put out a release today to say they've hit 250K unique users in the thirty days since they came out of beta, and they're now seeking Series A funding. We've been hearing about this company since 2005, so we're surprised they're still around, and gearing up to take on the hundreds of other new search engines.

Photobucket Winner - The Always On Media 100, a list of the top 100 private companies chosen by the blog network and event organizer Always On, is resulting in a flurry of press releases from the companies selected. Among them, photo hosting site Photobucket. (release)

Jewish Social Network - JSoN, launched today, is a social network for alumni of Jewish service and social action projects like AJWS, Panim, and Leading Up North. As others have noted, it's currently unimpressive. (via)
