LONDON -- A man in Cornwall, England had to be rescued by firefighters Monday after a tree fell on the roof of his cottage and trapped him in his bed.

The man was pinned by the legs after his ceiling caved early on Monday morning, according to Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service. Firefighters attended the scene and the man was eventually freed.

"The large tree which was standing in the Old Rectory came down and smashed into the garage and house," neighbour Julian Rand was quoted as saying in a BBC article.

"The man wasn't injured by the falling tree, but was trapped."
