On the heels of airing the Broadchurch season 2 finale in the U.K., British network iTV has announced the show will return for another season.
Stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, who play detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller, respectively, are both expected to return.

The second season of the show has been met with mixed reviews, however.
While season 1 focused on an investigation into the death of a young boy, the subsequent season focused on the trial of his killer, a storyline that resulted in what The Guardian called an "uneven" season.
Season 2 of Broadchurch is set to debut Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET on BBC America.
Last fall, Fox attempted to remake Broadchurch for American audiences with Gracepoint, but in December, they opted not to pick up a second season.
