An act of kindness by four young brothers has kept a 75-year-old woman from going to jail.

When the grass on Gerry Suttle's lawn reached a height of 18 inches, a notice was supposedly issued asking her to appear before a judge. An ordinance for the city of Riesel, Texas, where Suttle lives, states that the "growth of weeds and grass may not exceed 18 inches."

But Suttle never got the notice -- she says it was never delievered -- and a warrant for her arrest was issued, local news station KWTX reports.

When the Reynolds brothers, who lived nearby, heard Suttle's story, they grabbed their lawn mowers, despite the fact that temperatures had surpassed 90 degrees. The four boys headed over to Suttle's home, where others eventually pitched in to help, too.

"It's a summer day, we don't have season passes yet to Hawaiian Falls," Blaine Reynolds told KWTX. "What else could we do but go out and help some people?"

"I really wouldn't want her coming out here and doing it or paying someone else to when we could have just done if for free," said Brandon Reynolds, one of the brothers that helped cut the lawn.

Suttle was "speechless," something she said doesn't happen very often.

Now that the lawn is under control, she doesn't need to do much to clear the warrant from her name; she just signed some paperwork stating she never received the notice to appear before a judge.
