People around the world are sending donations to cover the treatment and recovery costs for an abused cat named Bruce Almighty.

Discovered by homeowners in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 18, Bruce was found with electrical tape tightly wrapped around his legs, causing infection and severe tissue damage in the areas.

The Regina Humane Society created a GoFundMe page for Bruce Almighty, who was named after rescuers observed his "fierce determination and will to live." The page has amassed over $13,000 in donations in three days as of this writing.

"The pain and suffering he has endured is unimaginable," wrote a senior officer for the Regina Humane Society.

According to the GoFundMe page, Bruce remains in "guarded" condition, and officials may have to amputate his left leg due to the damage caused by the tape.
