Close your eyes -- Businessweek is about to take you to a magical land of fictional equines and deflationary currency.

The cover of this week's issue, based on an article entitled "Bitcoin Dreams," features a white unicorn running along a river that flows through a jungle as a planet hangs in the sky and coins cascade down, as if conjured out of thin air.

The magazine's cover plays on both the nonphysical aspect of the currency as well as the wild aspirations of Bitcoin supporters. The cover story provides a broad perspective on the current market for the cryptocurrency and its origins, as well as a look at the very real people who "mine" bitcoins with specialized computers.

The cover is accompanied by a fun explainer that also brings some attention to Christian Riese Lassen, whose artwork the Businessweek cover was based upon.

Even the magazine's editor, Josh Tyrangiel, expressed some amazement at it:

Our cover this week. Even I'm speechless. http://t.co/daCUy4VqN8— Josh (@Tyrangiel) January 9, 2014

Bitcoin currently trades at around $870. Around 12,237,375 BTC have been mined, according to Bitcoinwatch.com, and can now be used to buy a wide array of products. In December, one person used Bitcoin to buy a Tesla automobile.

As if the cover was not enough, there's also this gif:
