Buzznet keeps on spending that $25m of funding it received a couple of months ago. In the past several weeks, the company grabbed the indie music blog Stereogum and the former Gawker Media property Idolator. This week it got hold of AbsolutePunk, a website formed in 2000 and which has since become a “premier destination for alternative music, industry news, interviews and community.”
The news of the company’s latest acquisition comes with no mention of a price tag, but if we’re to compare it to preceding purchases, Absolute Pink’s purported 500,000-strong community of music fans is perhaps worth a bit less than the higher profile. But, you know, it’s the thought that went into the buy that counts, right? Of course.
