Buzzword, the web-based document creation tool built on Adobe Flash and recently acquired by Adobe, has emerged from private beta is is available to all.
I got a chance to try out Buzzword's Preview 4 a few months back, and really liked the ease with which you can create multimedia documents. There are also tools for leaving notes, easy editing and sharing options, making it a good application for collaborative document creation.
There's still some catching up to do on Buzzword's part, if it would like to be fully competitive with the likes of Google Docs and Zoho, and considering that Buzzword is now a member of the Adobe family, many are hoping for furthered integration with more of Adobe tools, such as PDF import and exporting options.
It does already have a desktop version that's been built on AIR. A major advantage that other web-based document creation tools like Google Docs and Zoho have over Buzzword is a growing suite of solutions and applications that can work in conjunction with their document apps, and while Microsoft is also moving in this direction with Windows Live Spaces, Adobe may be looking to offer a more complete suite of integrated solutions to compete more directly with these initiatives as well.
