A Twitter bot named @she_not_he has been activated to correct users who misgender Caitlyn Jenner. Whenever users refer to Jenner in their tweets using the pronoun "he," the bot will tweet a response reminding them to use Jenner's now-preferred female pronouns.

The former athlete and television personality Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, began her final gender transition in early 2015, undergoing breast augmentation and facial reconstruction surgery. She made the decision to officially introduce herself as Caitlyn and go by female pronouns on June 1, when Vanity Fair published a profile about her experience.

Though people are recognizing and supporting Jenner via Twitter, some are still slipping up — or not reading the fine print: Today, Jenner prefers to be referred to as a woman, which, in this case, means when writing, speaking or tweeting about her using words like "she" and "her."

Otherwise, this bot will find you and (politely) correct your misuse.

Though, sometimes the bot makes mistakes. The bot generates a reply if any tweet mentioning Caitlyn Jenner contains a male pronoun, regardless whether it's in ignorance:

Since 2:17 p.m. ET (the account's first tweet), the bot had automatically tweeted to more than 300 users.

The bot's creator is unknown, as the Twitter user did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the time of writing.
