The Governator Takes to Twitter and Widgets to Pass California Budget

The “Legislature’s Failure to Act” widget features how many days the state has gone without having a budget passed, and also keeps a running ticker estimate of how much money the state is losing, modeled after the famous National Debt clock in New York that recently ran out of digits. The widget, powered by Clearspring, can be emedded on user’s websites and blogs, or posted directly to social networking profiles by clicking the "share" button:

Additionally, in case you hadn't noticed yet, Schwarzenneger has taken to Twitter in recent months, posting links to updates about the budget crisis and promoting things like the widget. So far, his team is using the microblogging tool completely as a one-way broadcasting tool (the Governator isn't following anyone and he has made no replies), but it’s a useful stream of information if you’re concerned about the issue.
