Who wouldn’t want to live a house that looks like it jumped out of their favorite cartoon? Well, one California couple made that a reality for their kids and now some neighbors are up in arms about it.

A couple in Santa Clara remodeled their Victorian to look like the house from Disney Pixar's Up -- in which 78-year-old Carl Frederickson ties thousands of balloons to his colorful Victorian house in order to see the wonders of South America -- but some neighbors claim the house's bright colors don't belong in the historical neighborhood.

“It really, in my opinion, is atrocious that this Victorian is a gracious old lady and it’s been painted up like a clown,” neighbor Lou Faria told the NBC Bay Area News.

The homeowners, however, simply claim their intentions were to make their daughters happy. “We're not trying to create controversy… We're trying to build a home for our daughters and our family. And that's what our intention was,” they told the outlet.
