The next Call of Duty -- which we can all safely assume is Call of Duty: Black Ops III -- is set for an April 26 reveal.

Activision confirmed as much in a brief teaser that features a virtual camera panning around what appears to be the iconic Black Ops soldier's silhouette, made up of random, swirling alphanumerics. As the camera moves, snippets of dialogue from the previous Black Ops games play in the background. The teaser concludes with the Roman numeral for the number three and a date for the world reveal: 4.26.15.

Call of Duty continues to be an annual fall release for Activision, and it's been known for some time that the next developer in line is Black Ops studio Treyarch. The two Black Ops games so far have visited a range of different battlefields, moving from Vietnam to the Cold War to the not-so-distant future.

There's not a whole lot more to say at this point. Treyarch created the popular, wave-based Zombies mode that has been a staple of every CoD game released since 2008 (it was also included in Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in 2014).

It's a safe bet we'll see more walking dead this fall, but if Activision's reveal timeline resembles previous Call of Duty reveals, you can probably expect the April 26 announcement to focus entirely on the story.
