Cam Newton on Twitter hack: 'I guess 'camnewton1' was a bad 'password''

Cam Newton tweeted that he is "#backfromthehack" Wednesday after an unknown prankster hijacked his account and went on an hours-long trash-talking spree on Tuesday.

The imposter took shots at Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who he called "overrated," the Oakland Raiders and Newton himself with tweets like "Ahhhhhh I suck," "I wanna get released @Panthers" and "I wanna get signed to a good team."

The hack may not have taken much effort. According to Newton, his account security wasn't all that impenetrable:

Lol that was ridiculous. I guess "Camnewton1" was a bad "password" choice?! Thanks again @twitter #backfromthehack— Cameron Newton (@CameronNewton) November 19, 2014

The Carolina Panthers tweeted that Newton's account had been hacked and that they were "working to resolve this issue" before Twitter eventually suspended his account until it was reactivated Wednesday.
