We take photographs because that moment in time is special to us. It doesn't really matter what others think. What’s important is how much it matters to you, the person behind the lens.
The rise of photo-sharing apps like Instagram and the accompanying cottage industry of photo-editing apps, like Afterlight, Camera+, Snapseed and more, have turned everyday people into bonafide photographers, but the professionals still have an edge over the rest of us, capturing life in crisp, emotive scenes.
To celebrate the moments that matter to photographers around the world, Samsung recruited a cadre of professional photographers, equipped them with the fast-speed Samsung NX camera and tasked them to photograph what matters, with the hashtag #mattersmostNX.
The Samsung NX1 was unveiled at Photokina in 2014 as Samsung's next-gen smart camera, featuring 15FPS continuous shooting, an advanced Auto Focus (AF) System III with 205 Phase Detection AF points and a 28MP APS-C BSI CMOS Sensor -- it'll force even professional photographers to rethink professional photography.
Take a peek through the ensuing photos -- from seascapes and portraits to wilderness and pets-- from heavy hitters in the Instagram world, such as Altug Galip, Ali Jardine, Mike Kus, Elena Kalis, KD Kuiper and Magnum celeb-photographer Alex Webb, who broke into photography in the 1970s with black-and-white photos of small-town, American life and is known as one of the greatest Magnum photographers of his time.
