Washington, D.C physical therapist Amanda Hall knows that breaking a bone is a pretty joyless experience — especially when you're a kid. That's why she's started creating casts for her younger patients that resemble trendy pairs of kicks.

Hall, who goes by the Instagram handle madcaster, has created casts inspired by Ugg boots, Air Jordans, Doc Martens and Yeezy Boosts.

Hall says she started the project in the hopes of making the cast experience a little less tedious for kids.

“I first started when a tiny baby girl I was working with needed splints, and all I had was beige casting material small enough for her. I styled them as UGG boots to take advantage of the color,” Hall told MTV News. “Her mom was so proud to put them on her! So, ever since, I’ve been trying to up my game. If it’s cute and will excite my kids, I try and make it work.”

Each cast that Hall creates is handmade and unique to the wearer's personality.

Hall says that the kids she works with are always excited about the prospect of personalizing their own cast and usually have plenty of ideas.

"The kids get really into it and give me design ideas to make me keep upping my game so they can show them off."
