LONDON -- All eyes might have been on the Prime Minister Monday morning as the UK election campaign officially began, but one photographer captured the other battle for Number 10.

Downing Street cat Larry faced off against police sniffer dog Bailey, a springer spaniel who looked more interested in playing than scrapping with the feline.

Larry, an eight-year-old tabby who holds the official title of chief mouser to the Cabinet Office, sent the spaniel packing from the steps outside the prime minister's official residence.

But Bailey took it all in stride:

Larry joined Downing Street in February 2011 after Battersea Dogs and Cats Home recommended him for the job because of his excellent mousing skills.

He's known for taking his duties very seriously.
