Cat Immersion Project Brings Happiness to Cancer Patient [VIDEO]

Any Joe Internet Browser knows the happiness-inducing power of cats. Silly or stupid, cute or cuddly -- cats bring out the smiles.

Maga, a teenage cancer patient at Seattle Children’s Hospital, needed the cheerful side effects of kitties, but her situation restricted her exposure to the furry creatures. Immunity concerns didn’t allow her beloved cat, Merry, to visit her.

Hospital staffers wanted to find a way to bring a little feline joy to Maga so they asked their Facebook fans to submit photos of their cats. The initiative collected 3,000 images, which were incorporated into a “Cat Immersion Project.”

Maga was touched by the outpouring of support and told the hospital’s blog: “You guys remind me that there is so much good in the world, and its just makes me feel so much better, and connected. I can’t tell you how it feels sometimes, feeling disconnected and cut off from the world, and then with something like cat pictures bringing me back. Thank you all for your kind words, and well wishing. Its means more then you can ever know. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you…”
