In the eyes of the Internet, cats can do no wrong.
How could they? After everything they've given us throughout the years -- like Grumpy Cat, Nyan Cat and Lolcats -- their meme-able and awkward adorableness has practically granted them all eternal "Get Out of Jail Free" cards. Until now.
Police in the state of Alagoas, Brazil say they caught a cat attempting to enter a medium-security prison on New Year's Eve with escape tools strapped to its body -- a first-of-its-kind feline jailbreak accomplice. The black-and-white cat was equipped with a cellphone, batteries, assorted drills and two saws, CNN reports. Had the cat entered the facility, police say, the tools would have undoubtedly been used for an escape attempt.
As of now, the prison's 263 inmates are all considered suspects. No word yet on how the cat pleads.
