Online gossip site Dotspotter has been acquired by CBS for $10 million. Founded by Anthony Soohoo, a former Yahoo exec, Dotspotter lets users offer up celebrity news, video clips, images, articles and sightings for your leisurely enjoyment. Vote up the ones you like, vote down the ones you hate. It's all celebrity gossip. How could you possibly hate any of it?

So could this celebrity gossip Digg clone be part of CBS's larger strategy? That's what looks to be the case. CBS president Leslie Moonves laid out some goals for the company's online strategy, which includes an online marketing strategy across other acquired networks like Last.fm.
