CBS Radio has shared some of its upcoming plans on rolling out a more involved push for a larger Internet presence. CBS, having acquired Last.fm, has already embarked on this journey by investing in the music recommendation and social networking site. More recently, the company has also integrated Truveo into its Internet radio stations' websites, so it's clear that CBS is looking for an improved web-based listening experience. This is also a larger effort to recoup some of the losses seen in the radio industry overall.

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]As reported by eMarketer, web advertising has surpassed radio advertising for the first time, indicating a need for a shift in focus when it comes to directed initiatives, marketing and growth. A partnership between CBS Radio and Last.fm is expected to help further this initiative along, though the details of this partnership have not been revealed.

CBS has also been growing its online efforts in other directions as well, with the launching of mobizone, a free wi-fi area for Manhattan. This experimental portal could prove as a nice way to take its concepts of broadcasting free content into the Internet realm, and this may be a great way to grow its radio efforts as well.
