Céline Dion has canceled her Asia tour and all Las Vegas shows for the foreseeable future to deal with a throat ailment and care for her husband, René Angélil, who has been battling cancer.

"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion wrote on her website. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."

The career hiatus -- a postponement of "all of her show business activities" -- comes months after Angélil had surgery to eliminate a tumor in December 2013. Dion, who hasn't performed since July 29 of this year, said she will use the time off to focus on Angélil and their three kids.
