Celine Dion made a special appearance at Sunday night's American Music Awards to deliver a tribute to the victims of the Paris terrorism attacks.
Dion performed a stirring version of Edith Piaf's 1940s song "Hymne à L'Amour" as beautiful images of Paris and the city's citizens flashed behind her. Many audience members were visible moved, crying throughout Dion's performance.
More than 130 were killed and more than 350 injured in a combination of mass shootings and suicide bombs in the Nov. 13 attacks.
"We felt it was important to show our solidarity in light of the recent events in Paris and all around the world," American Music Awards producer Larry Klein previously said in a statement to Billboard. "Celine's performance will help us express our feelings through song, when words do not suffice.”
The singer, who is French Canadian, was introduced by actor Jared Leto, who shared a personal story about the Bataclan, one of the locations targeted by terrorists.
