Cerado Haystack, a social networking platform for organizations, is announcing OpenID integration for its social networks today.

Haystack is optimized for business sales solutions, and offers a wiki-style system for members - by offering OpenID support, they join Microsoft, Verisign, AOL, Symantec and Digg as companies that have expressed support for the format. It's good news for consumers: OpenID offers a single login across multiple social networks, meaning less passwords and usernames to remember. It's about giving more control to the user. Haystack also recently rolled out widgets, which you can see at Widgetbox, and provides an API that's being utilized by SwapThing.

In all honesty, however, Mashable hasn't covered Haystack so far due to one element: poor design. Perhaps we're design-obsessed, but we just can't get beyond the clunkiness of some of the demo offerings, and tend to make assumptions that poor design equals poor code. We'll have to dig a little deeper into this one to give it a fair shot.
