The NYTimes mentioned this news briefly last week, and today we're expecting the announcement that the social search engine ChaCha has raised $6 million in a round led by Bezos Expeditions, the personal investment firm of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Rod Canion, founding CEO of Compaq, and Maven Ventures partner Jack Gill also contributed to the round. What's more, they're announcing that they've filed 18 patents so far - hopefully a few of them are non-obvious. Amazon was also incorrectly linked to the new Wikia social search engine over Christmas, before founder Jimmy Wales set the record straight (it's worth noting, too, that the search engine won't be called Wikiasari).
