The latest edition of the Chambers Dictionary in Britain was updated with some 1,000 new word definitions, The Independent reports, and some of them will definitely raise eyebrows in linguist circles.
Among the new words are "milf" and "boyf" -- the second one being an abbreviation for "boyfriend."
"Whatevs" was also included -- because, whatevs -- while on the acronym front the seemingly ubiquitous "YOLO" (you only live once) was also added.
Especially interesting is "totes amazeballs," a phrase popularized by Charlatans singer Tim Burgess (and even used on a cereal box), basically meaning "totally amazing." But, you know, with testicles.
Chambers Dictionary is not the only one to embrace new words popularized by social media. In May, Merriam-Webster added more than 150 words to its collegiate dictionary, including "hashtag," "selfie" and "tweep."
