The colors of fall

Get your fall foliage fix right here

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons. - Jim Bishop

Between the East Coast’s lush, green, overgrown summers and its cold, gray, bleak winters are two seasons that show how change can be beautiful. While spring awakens our sense of purpose, and reminds us of new chances and fresh starts, waiting for its arrival can be a slog. Winter lingers in this part of the United States — and lingers and lingers. By contrast, the warm lull of late August ushers in an entirely different counterpart: the fall. Even if you don’t live somewhere that enjoys a kaleidoscopic change of the floral guard, few can deny the pleasing aesthetics of fall leaves. If this inspires you to seek out autumn’s color in real life, it’s not too late to plan a fall foliage road trip.
