Fashion Week is the absolute best time to stand outside in 15 degree weather and be seen in your expensive designer clothes, if you've got 'em.
But life isn't all leather Alexander Wang backpacks and Valentino Rockstuds. That's why we asked the fashionistas at Lincoln Center to reveal their darkest secret -- what the cheapest thing they wore to New York Fashion Week was.

It turns out, almost everyone had a chic find from a chain store -- H&M, Zara and Forever21 were all well-represented. We were also pleased to learn that plenty dedicated followers of fashion had the foresight to layer fleece-lined garments under their ensembles. As for trends, fuzzy pink clutches, faux fur and cerulean blue were very hot.
As we say goodbye to another Fashion Week, our advice is to head to your local Forever21 and pick up the first bright blue Muppet coat you can find -- Cookie Monster is totally on-trend.
