I am the proud mom of an NDMS cheerleader!!! (Again) lolPosted by Renee Parker on Friday, May 1, 2015

This young girl is steadily cheering her way into our hearts.

Lacey Parker is a 10-year-old middle school student with Down syndrome who just wanted to be a cheerleader like her sister. That aspiration became a reality after Lacey's school invited her to join the cheerleading squad and, fortunately for us, Lacy's family was there to catch her reaction on camera.

Renee Parker, Lacey's mom, told the local WBTV News, "She's never said 'I can't,' she's never wanted anybody to treat her different. She’s always told us ‘I just want to be like everybody else."

After melting our hearts, Lacey says her next goal is to get a driver's license so she can drive her dream car: a black mustang.
