Chennai, India is being hit by the worst rains in nearly a century. A fresh bout of heavy downpour over the last few days has left most parts of the city under water. Daily life in the city came to a grinding halt as runways were flooded with water and flights to the city were suspended. The army, navy and the National Disaster Response have been called to carry out rescue operations.
