If Chewbacca is campaigning for Darth Vader, clearly there is a disturbance in the Force.

A person dressed a Chewbacca was arrested on Sunday during the local elections in Odessa, Ukraine while campaigning for a mayoral candidate named Darth Vader (yes, that's his real name).

Apparently the giant Wookiee was violating several laws, including campaigning on election day, disturbing the peace and blocking the road near a local polling station.

Chewie belongs to Ukraine's Internet Party, not only known for its well-known Sith candidate, but now also for famously replacing a statue of Lenin with a statue of Darth Vader in Odessa. The new and improved statue also provided free Wi-Fi -- something both Jedi and Sith can approve of.

After being detained by police, Chewbacca was fined the equivalent of $7.50 USD, but he apparently could not pay it because "his funds are an intergalactic bank that has no branches on this planet." Poor Chewie. Where's Han when you need him?

Chewbacca also appeared in court to bring up charges, and he definitely could have used a comb.
