Chief Creative Viner is an Actual Job: Josh Peck Fills The Role for Joe Boxer

"I've always wanted a chief anything title," actor Josh Peck, best known for his stint on Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh, told Mashable. Well, on Thursday, he accomplished that goal, becoming Chief Creative Viner for fashion brand Joe Boxer.

With nearly 5 million followers on Vine, Peck is the latest popular user on Twitter's six-second video service to ink a deal to infuse product mentions or placements into his account.

"I was lucky that I got into Vine way early to explore all of possibilities and establish this audience," Peck, 27, said. "Their brand is so reminiscent of young people and college kids -- and that's been my fan base. They'll see characters they've grown to love."

Peck's Vine videos primarily feature him voicing male and female characters with flourishes of self-deprecating humor, and sometimes, he even breaks into song. His first video for the Joe Boxer partnership stays true to this comedic format, with his familiar "mean girl" character:

This isn't Peck's first foray into branded content. He previously teamed up with McDonald's on a few Vine videos for the Winter Olympics as well as multilingual social network Badoo to pimp the service's app. His dream collaboration would be with Oprah Winfrey.

Peck, who is a recurring guest on Fox's The Mindy Project and will play a role in Dan Fogelman’s film Imagined with Al Pacino later this year, offered helpful tips on how to be successful and enjoy the experience on Vine.

"Don’t read your comments, first off, because you're not going to get a lot of constructive criticism," he explained. "And make yourself laugh -- if it's not funny to you it won't be funny to anyone else."
