If you've ever had a small child near your iPad, you know the feeling of unease that comes with it. But a mother and design firm aim to change that with the My:KidPad, a protective case for the iPad 2 and new iPad.

"This is the information age, and that’s an information age kid," the Kickstarter page says. "Let’s bring the two together with a lightweight, durable, protective case that transforms the iPad 2 and 3 into an object of kidsafe fun and adult [peace] of mind."

A soft injection mold base made out of flexible pu foam acts as a base for the tablet. Once seated within the foam, a plastic frame snaps over your iPad to secure it in place.

"The my:kidpad was created with that excitement in mind. Sturdy gaming handles that act as bumpers and shock absorbers for you iPad when your little gamers are 'in the zone'."

After having spent the past nine months with prototyping, Idiom Plus plans to spend the pledged $55,000 to put the project into full production.
