A Chinese farmer has planted a map of his country in his back yard, using different varieties of rice to yield different colours.
Chen Jinxiang, a retired technician from an agrotechnical station, planted the map of China from 30 kinds of rice in various colours and shapes. The 71-year-old has worked on rice varieties for over 30 years in his career, reports People's Daily.
While this map is probably the largest that he's created with rice, it's not the only one. He's also made a framed map with different dried grains.
This is rice dried still on the chaff, hanging in a display in his home.
