Beijing has released the new theme song for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and critics are pointing out it sounds like a blatant rip-off of "Let it Go" from Disney's hit animated movie Frozen.

The song, titled "The Snow and Ice Dance" (Bing Xue Wu Dong), is performed by Chinese singers Sun Nan and Tan Jing. It's one of 10 official songs for the Games. So far, it's attracted an overwhelming proportion of thumbs-downs on YouTube.

The Chinese city won the rights to host the Games on Friday, beating out Almaty in Kazakhstan for the honour. The cities were the only two remaining bidders when the decision was made by the International Olympic Committee.
