There are bruises, and then there's...this.
Back in May, Chipper Jones, who retired this year after nineteen legendary Major League Baseball seasons with the Atlanta Braves, was smacked in the leg by line drive off the bat of B.J. Upton. This Tuesday, however, he used Twitter to share the hit's gruesome aftermath with the world:

A couple quick thoughts: I did not know it was possible for one's entire lower leg to bruise up after being hit with an object just about seven centimeters in diameter; this is definitely one part of baseball the newly retired Jones will not miss; he's a freaking soldier for staying in the game.
