Chitika (aff), known for the eMiniMalls affiliate scheme that's familiar to most bloggers, is targeting the MySpace demographic. We actually saw this product popping up a week ago, but now we have the details from the company itself (bad Chitika - tell us sooner next time!).

The MySpace Owna widget, which is being promoted through this profile page, is a way for MySpacers to show off items they like. It's a similar concept to MyPickList or Nabbr. The widgets come with a choice of 5 skins, and display a product image linked to a shopping search engine.

Chitika account holders earn cost per click revenue just like with eMiniMalls, while for others it's just a way to associate yourself with a brand. This brand association may be a better angle: our experience with other affiliate schemes on social networks is that the payments are a matter of cents per year - something that quickly turns off the money-motivated users.
