Chris Hadfield will not rest until he is cooler than us all.

The social-media-savvy astronaut just released an album, titled Space Sessions: Songs From a Tin Can, which he recorded entirely from outer space. Hadfield hopes the record will help people "feel a little bit more what it's like to live on a spaceship," he tells Canada AM.

Proceeds from sales will go toward music education in Canada.

The album features 11 original songs, with delightfully far out titles like "Space Lullaby" and "Beyond the Terra." There's also David Bowie's "Space Oddity," which Hadfield famously covered in 2013.

Hadfield's album has a folksy lean, full of space-themed lyrics like "Can't stand on my own feet/I just float away" ("Feet Up") and "So bright/Dark as the night/With all of our cities aglow" ("Jewel in the Night").

He released a number of lyric videos leading up to the album release, like one for "Daughter of My Sins," a bluesy folk track that melds Hadfield's Bowie-esque croon with lyrics like, "I don't know where today has been/And I've been told that all my sorrows/Are just the daughter of my sins."

There's also one for "Ride That Lightning," a jangling, upbeat jam stuffed with electric guitar licks and piano riffs.

Space Sessions: Songs From a Tin Can is currently available everywhere on Earth.
