NFL stars are bigger, richer and more athletic than the rest of us -- but they share many of the same hopes and dreams.

You know: Getting married, starting a family. Winning the Powerball lottery.

Count Rams star Chris Long among the many whose Powerball hopes were dashed Wednesday night. But he did end up on a local news broadcast, delivering a classic man-on-the-street interview.

What's more, Long seems more happy about making a local news show than he would have been about actually winning the lottery.

Some dreams come true finally made the local news tonight. pic.twitter.com/LmZNouUdoL— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) January 14, 2016

Long was stopped at a Virginia convenience store. His in-character interview as a lottery-hopeful everyman, embedded below, is pure gold.

I would say @JOEL9ONE is #winning with his #Powerball appearance on @NBC29. Hope the "old lady" gets her timeshare! pic.twitter.com/gv9RBe1IUm— Matt Talhelm (@MattTalhelm) January 14, 2016

"I already told my old lady if we win we're going down to Myrtle Beach for about 10 months, and we're gonna get a time share and the whole nine yards," Long told Charlottesville, Virginia, station NBC29. "Maybe a big boat, a couple boats -- you know, a lot of boats. We're going to have a great time."

That's some quality humor from an NFL player. But it appears as if Long's true identity was discovered somewhere between when he was interviewed and when the interview aired; Long tweeted that he gave the news crew a different name.

For the record my name was Rod Carriker so Chris long may be a type O— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) January 14, 2016

So, just like you, Chris Long is now a dejected Powerball loser. Unlike you, he's earning a base salary of $9,750,000 already. But hey -- there's always next time.
